About Me

My name is David Berge. I was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. I grew up a Minnesota sports fan and thus have experienced a great deal of emotional trauma (the 1998 NFC Championship game, the Gophers Men’s Basketball academic fraud scandal, just to name a couple instances). This explain a lot.

I was an emcee in a live-band rap group called The Fresh Nest. We were legitimately good.

I am married to Amy, the love of my life and mother to my 2 children.

I was raised at Aldrich Avenue Presbyterian Church, where my father was baptized, my parents were married, I was baptized, confirmed, married, and had my first real job as Youth Director.

I am a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary (completely separate from Princeton University, and so not as impressive as it sounds).

From 2009-2013 I was Associate Pastor for Student Ministries at Ojai Presbyterian Church, in sunny Ojai, CA.

I recently left California to return to Minneapolis to plant a church with the Evangelical Covenant Church. I will probably be blogging about this.

My interests include watching The Wire, Breaking Bad, The Bachelor/ette/Pad, reading NT Wright, Peter LeithartKarl BarthDietrich Bonhoeffer, and listening to KFAN.
